What We Do
Montana Freshwater brings practical vision and fresh energy to watershed conservation work. We restore, enhance, and preserve Montana’s aquatic ecosystems through the following programs and services.
In-Lieu Fee Program
Compensatory mitigation for unavoidable development impacts to Montana’s wetlands and stream ecosystems.
Give Back to the Yellowstone
Voluntary program to protect the river’s channel migration zone, in favor of natural erosion and sediment deposition.
Beaver Conflict Resolution Partnership
Program addressing landowner concerns with beaver activity such as flooding or tree felling.

Technical Services
Providing professional expertise and leadership to conservation partners, NGOs, workgroups, and agencies.
