Restoration Techniques

Partner Collaboration

Recognizing that caring for our landscapes and waterways takes teamwork, MFP convenes a group of more than 25 partners—including agencies, nonprofits, local government, and landowners—to work hand-in-hand on restoration projects, science-based planning, and building community knowledge around water stewardship. Together, the partners are creating a stronger, healthier future for water, wildlife, and people in Park County.

The Upper Yellowstone Watershed is facing a number of pressures—from heavy recreation and legacy land-use practices to invasive species, channel modifications, water overuse, and the impacts of climate change. To tackle these challenges, MFP secured grant funding in 2024 from the Bureau of Reclamation to lead the Park County Water Initiative and bring together a diverse group of water resource experts. The goal is to strengthen local partnerships and accelerate conservation and restoration efforts across Park County by pooling resources and working collaboratively.
