Teller Wildlife Refuge Wetland Restoration

Situated among the diversity of diverse and vital habitats in the Bitterroot River riparian corridor, the Teller Wildlife Refuge offers great opportunities for restoring and enhancing a high-functioning wetland complex along the river’s floodplain. Montana Freshwater Partners’ project goals include restoring the natural hydrology and vegetation to the area, improving the wildlife habitat quality and complexity, enhancing the water quality of irrigation return flows before they re-enter the Bitterroot River, and increasing both long- and short-term water storage.
